this'll be a long entry, so lemme get straight to it.

i'm new to tarot. christine has had a tarot deck since she was in hs. i'd always ask her to do my 'fortune,' but she'd always say later, which ended up to be never. but i'm not bitter really ;). so ever since then, i was intrigued by tarot...the pretty cards, the possibility that it could all be true... i've always been interested in pretty much the same things as christine like astrology, comics, dragons, books, magic... claudine never took the same interests as we did, but that's kewl. she's the different and not as weird one, u kno, the sane one. :D. hehehe...anyhoo, this is about ME, not my sisters!
hahaha.

so on friday, me, melanie n marilyn went out to eat sushi and watch big fish. b/w food n the movie, we had some time, so we went to barnes to check the books out. i go straight to the puzzles, cuz i like to give them to my friends...and then i had to find melanie n marilyn. they were in the new age aisle, lookin at cards n stuff. melanie picked out a couple kewl ones. i didn't think i'd buy any of the card they had on the shelves, but then i saw a display of the kind of cards they additionally sell in the front. i've always thought about eventually buying a deck, and i knew they had multiple decks, tho i never new the difference. as i was flipping through some of the examples of different decks, i gravitated towards one that i knew i definitely want to buy. i don't know why, but i was just drawn to the pictures (not in a bad scurrie way ;)). but i didn't see any of them in the shelves, so i just moved on to other aisles. eventually, i came back, to see if i missed them, or if i could find any other cards i liked. i didn't...then melanie found me in that aisle and was lookin around the shelves. then, through her excellent nosy abilities (hahahaha...u said it!), she found a lil pad of paper that had a list of all the decks on display...and that they're all found behind the register counter. so i bought a deck...my first deck!

i decided on sunday nite to try my deck out...first, i read the lil manual that came with it...well, i glossed over some of the history stuff...i know, i'll read the whole thing eventually. so after i read how to do a spread, i gave it a go. i focused, asked my question ("will i find love/true love soon?" cheesy i know, but dude, get over it), then i shuffled the deck 6 times (minimum of at least 3, and i did 6 cuz well, it's a fresh deck, and it was still in order). So after i shuffled, i laid out my cards in the spread. and can i just say, i was taken aback. i'd like to think that maybe some higher being is messing with
me, cuz at the bottom of my deck, even the minor cards have a general name at the bottom. so one was love, 2 of cups. there was also fortune...but one to describe me was the heirophant. oOoOo. the overall spread, well, the stuff that's supposed to describe me, was hittin close to home.

now u may think, it's just a deck of cards, it can't tell your future! but if u think about it, the cards aren't really telling you you're future, they're just trying to guide you through the right path to your question/want of what could be. and it doesn't tell you all good stuff, or all bad stuff..it only tells you what could be if you choose a way, but also to beware of doing things the wrong way.

don't get me wrong, i'm not gonna base my life by the cards! it's just that it was REALLY creepy the way it told my situation. this got me thinking...it was prolly a fluke. it was my 1st spread, and the cards must've not been shuffled enough. i decided to give it a day, then do another kind of spread. so i went on the internet to find more about tarot, different spreads, possible books, etc. well it turns out that my deck was created by one of the most famous/controversial/notorious occultist. peachy keen. that made me feel REAL safe. oh well. i moved on, found more info, and read deck reviews...some say it's ok for beginners, other say it isn't, but one review struck me. it said to be careful with this deck. GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAT. yeaaaaaaaaaaah. i win. it's safe to say that i'll only use it one in a while with complex spreads. sheesh. i found more indepth explanations of the cards, which i'll use till i buy an adequate book. i wanted to find out what kind of other spreads would be ok to use with my deck...cuz some talk about reversals (when a card shows up up-side-down in a spread) and my deck doesn't really do reversals that way. that's wut the instructions said. it says that if there is something negative, it would be read in relation to surrounding cards (not all suits are comfy cozy with another, like wands and cups). cards can also strengthen each other (i.e. wands and sword)

anyhoo, i did a reading last night. i asked my question ("will 'he' be in my life/where will he be in my life?" cheese again, i know.), shuffled the deck 6 times, did a different spread pattern (celtic cross) and as craaaaaaazy as this sounds, i about half of the cards in the spread were in my last one. the other half, well, it was still good. no opposing suits. everything strengthening. meaning that i can get wut i want. if i go for it...within moderation. scurrie. but kewl ;)

so yah, this is my fun thing to do fer now. i won't take it super seriously, but i can't really deny the coincidences. it's a lil TOO close. hehehe. aight, this is all for now.OH YEAH! i got a real nice printer for $30! well, after i get my $40 rebate. but even if it was 70, it's still a pretty good price! kewwwwwwwwwwl. k, this is all fer now, really now! ;)
